Research and development RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
To meet the expectations of our customers and consumers and to be in line with new consumer trends, the France Champignon Group has introduced a particularly active Research & Development policy. The fact that we control every stage of production means that we can apply R & D to each of these stages, from the production of spawn to the consumer's plate.

- Spawn production
Euromycel works with INRA in Bordeaux to improve strains and their resistance to different diseases. This research helps to develop mushroom varieties that will be best adapted to the various production requirements (growing conditions, sales outlets…)
- Growing
- Improvements to compost quality through regular micro-culture tests.
- Maintaining ideal fructification conditions (temperature, humidity, CO2) through computer monitoring in the growing house.
- Cropping
The France Champignon Group has set up an experimental site dedicated to the development of new cropping tools and processes, with the aim of improving our competitiveness and product quality.
- The different transformation processes:
The group's investments have helped to optimise the different transformation processes, bringing the consumer higher-quality, easy-to-use products.
For example, the enrobing line recently installed by Champiland means that it can manufacture "ready to reheat" frozen products without adding fat.
- Developing new products:
The new products developed by France Champignon mean that consumers can enjoy the taste and nutritional qualities of our mushrooms in different forms and at different times of the day. For example, Royal Champignon's "Marinated Mushrooms" offer an original, balanced alternative to the usual salted aperitif products.
- Developing new packaging:
To ensure that its products are easy to use, the France Champignon Group also works to develop new types of packaging. For example, Les Champignons de Léon have brought new ideas to the fresh products section with a range of packaging that combines total preservation of the mushrooms and ease of use on all sorts of occasions (in salads, snacking, cooking…).
